Prue

Yvonne is an Ergonomist / OHS professional. Her specialisation is in human factors design and systems safety.  Prue is a mechanical engineer, and her specialisation is in mechanical design and failure analysis.  They are both educators and researchers in the area of professional practice paradigms at Central Queensland University.  Their ‘Virtuous Reality’ research over the last eight years has been centred on informing changes in the professional paradigm of both of their disciplines, towards the development of collaborative, ethical and informed design development to improve the safety and productivity of systems.  They are both active members of the Australasian Association for Engineering Education (Yvonne is a member of the Executive Committee).

They have recently completed contract research for the National Occupational Health and Safety Commission, in cooperation with Engineers Australia, to inform safe design through professional engineering undergraduate education.  They are foundation researchers in the Centre for Integrated Engineering Asset Management (CRC CIEAM) and are currently working on projects in cooperation with Ford Australia and the State Coroner’s Office of Victoria.
